My New Vandercook SP15

It's official - I just mailed final payment on my new Cadillac of printing presses - Introducing my new Vanercook SP15! She is much more industrial looking than the Pearl but Vandercook presses are amazing cylinder presses! Weighing in at 705LBS at the length of 5' 9" x 2' 8" with a max printing size of 14" x 20" she is quite the beauty! She has been completely restored by a professional so when she gets here she will be ready to go!
She will be shipping in from Canada in the next few weeks. As with every press I only hope that they are careful with her during shipment. Keeping my fingers crossed that she is delivered to me in one piece!
Anyway, she cost just about an arm and a leg but I know she will be worth it! Is that not the coolest that I can print up to 20 inches! Yippeee!

SELLER FEATURE: Lisa Hopkins Design

I found yet another ETSY shop that I am totally in love with! Jewelry does not normally fall onto my “must have” list but these designs are completely amazing. If you are into modern silver jewelery then you MUST take a look at the work of artist Lisa Hopkins.
Her store is filled with incredible silver jewelry which appears to be a beautiful brushed style. She combines a mix of illustration with type design which is so cool! The designs are modern with many of the illustrations based on nature.
She offers a full range of necklaces, rings, earrings and barrettes. Her prices are more than reasonable for such amazing designs. Take a minute to check out her entire store - you will not be disappointed!
Two thumbs up for Lisa Hopkins Designs!

WEEKLY FEATURE: Cool Brights
This week I was looking to brighten things up since the weather has been pretty overcast in my neck of the woods. In the same thought I was not looking to invite the heat back in just yet. With that said this feature is full of vibrant colors in a mixed cool palette of blue & greens!
1. What a bright and fun bag from Sandman Quilts, don’t you just love the wooden handles 2. This large mosaic wall panel by Twinbrooks is just beautiful 3. Isn’t this cord skirt by Urban Sapling adorable with the added ruffle 4. These basket chairs from Spruce Home are a fantastic combination of bright fabric with timeless wicker 5. Check out this great keepsake jar from Bunny Safari Pottery, this piece is so fun 6. Lime green really shows it’s style in this piece from cctexan3 7. Liven up your table with these great placemats by Linen Me 8. Art we can all afford, an ACEO original by Tiny Art by J. Mullin.

SELLER FEATURE: Sassy Aprons
I don’t normally treat myself to very lavish clothing or other fancy goodies. As a painter/printer I find that when I am working I get kind of hot and messy so I find myself wearing really beat up old clothing to work in. This includes a very uncomfortable canvas style apron that is neither pretty nor comfortable. So I set out to find an apron that was both comfy and feminine.I did not have to look far before I found these amazing aprons from Sassy Aprons - this fantastic store on ETSY. Lana, owner/artist, has totally put the sass back into aprons! Her bold & graphic fabric choices are perfectly paired. Adorned with ruffles, ribbons and bows her aprons just scream femininity.
She offers full aprons and half aprons in a wide variety of styles and colors. She also offers headbands and towels to match - how fun is that! Last but definitely not least - her prices are so reasonable - check out her shop and find a sassy apron for any budget!
Yeah for Sassy Aprons - Visit her shop!
The one below is all mine!

Restored Golding Pearl #3
BEFORE
AFTER

I finally finished the restoration on my Golding Pearl - yeah! Let me start off by saying that there really wasn't that much to be done - the issues were mostly cosmetic - but you can totally see the difference and just look at how lovely she is now!
She needed a good cleaning. The worst part was really the feedboard arms which had been broken at some point so they did not actually hold the feedboard trays upright. She was also missing her drawers and her actual feedboards were worse for the wear.
The feedboards & drawers came unfinished so I finished those myself. The feedboard arms & drawer pulls had to be painted and then everything mounted back where it was supposed to be.
Now I am just waiting on a new set of rollers and she will be as good as new! She looks really good for the meager age of 112 - she was completed February 16, 1897!
